DarkEnergy’s Thailand Itinerary (4N5D)

Thailand immigration

We took all the hard copy with us Passport, accommodation, flight ticket and E-visa. With help of E-visa we cleared the immigration in 10mins.

­SIM card

We bought TrueMove sim card inside the airport. It cost us around 299 baht per person for 15 GB 15 days’ validity. Even in the village we got full network and internet speed was very reasonable. I also switched on my Jio international roaming in case I want to buy anything on online, it will cost me 2rs per sms.

Thanks to the Metro ticket counter, they provided this map to reach our hostel.

China Town tour

When I visit a new place, I usually get the advice or hire a local guide to understand the culture,rules and In case of any emergency local guide is always there to help . So I have booked Small-Group: Unseen Bangkok’s Chinatown Walking Tour (3,500 baht per person)  from Tripadvisor. We are guided by Mr.Steve.

I want to say thank youuuuu to Mr Steve,
This is my 1st international trip. We have spent five hours roaming all over the china town.

As promised in the itinerary, Mr.Steve showed us hidden gems of bangkok, over 500 years history embedded in the corners of each street.

1. We saw the huge golden Buddha Temple

2. We saw the gateway to heaven and hell

3. Docking area near the Chao Phraya River. Such a amazing place. It felt like hongkong and Steve explained us about old trade routes and warehouses.

4. We saw huge scrap yards and old city architectures slowly turned into modern cafe after world war 2 scraps left behind. They slowly changed the place to a cafe for tourists.

5. We saw many Chinese temples and an interesting part in all the temples was a big wooden board at the entrance. It was very nostalgic for me since, during my childhood, I used to watch many kung fu Chinese movies from Jackie Chan,jetlee, brucelee and Chow Yun-fat Tamil dubbed version. I usually call that board as kung fu dojo board . Also I saw many powerful characters from Naruto anime as a god idols in the temple and some Chinese temples resemble our Tamil culture Lord Murugan.

6. We saw temple sculpture from our Hindu mythology placed on Thai architecture like lord Indra on his vehicle Erawan elephant and lord Vishnu on his vehicle garuda. That’s amazed me.

7. We saw Islamic and church temples in the surroundings
8. We went to flea market, even in India I haven’t seen different type of spices like that. It was a very busy street. Only two people can walk at a time, still it maintained well.

9. We saw the first Thai bank, and he explained why the front desk was in europium style.

10. He gave us tasty tiny pineapples,guava and watermelons. My eyes glued to the indulging tastes.
11. We completed our tour with a wonderful meal, chicken noodles and fried rice. He taught us how to mix the spices in food.

Bonus:
1. After watching many Chinese movies and anime I went crazy about tasting rice balls. Mr.Steve is very kind and bought it for us to taste, it was very fluffy and tasty.
2. He taught us Do’s and Don’t Do’s in Thailand.
3. Gave us tips about local transports like metro,bus and taxies etc
4. He explained about Thailand’s famous gender swap surgery.
5. I observed the way they obeyed their traffic rules and there were no horn sounds, even in the peak hours.
Finally, we understood the Amazing patriotism , culture and calmness etcc of the Thai people.
We love to visit again

Tamilnadu restaurant – My friend ran like a person stuck in the desert for three days with no water, suddenly when he saw the oasis. Meal was very good,we ate idly and dosa. It felt like a home cooked meal.

Day 2 (11th August 2022)
Hostel – Skydive – Kanchanaburi – homestay

SKYDIVEthailand – Since I am an adventure seeker and my main reason to visit Thailand was for skydiving. I convinced my friends, and we booked a golden pack. We did an advance booking in the website for 3,000 baht per person. Shuttle came to pick us up from our hostel in Bangkok. It took 2.5 hours to reach that place from central bangkok. For Golden pack along with instructor camera man will come with us to take the video from 3rd person perspective and also our instructor will take video from his Gopro from 2nd person perspective.

I felt like an Imperial Eagle stretching my wings widely, examining the entire world from the bird’s-eye to seek the next adventure!

Experince: 

21 Minutes
7 Minutes – For gearing up and reaching the Mini plane.
7 Minutes – To reach the 13,000 feet altitude.
10 sec – Free fall.
5 Minutes – Parachute eject and landing.
1.5 Minutes – for unwrapping the gear and reaching back to the location.

Cost:
Golden Pack – 12,600 Baht 
Silver Pack – 10,400 Baht
Bronze Pack – 7,500 Baht

Note:
Skydiving was very similar to scuba diving since both dealing with the change in atmospheric pressure. I felt a little pain in my ears on the free fall and during the parachute ejection; I felt pain in my thighs. Also stretch your legs fully for a smooth landing.

Kanchanaburi 

Once we reached the hostel, we wrapped up our bags and rushed to the southern bus station. We used Grab Taxi app for the reasonable rate. From there we took Minivan(120-150 baht) to Kanchanaburi which is 2 hours from bangkok.

If you seek a forest for healing, then this place is heaven for you.

We planned to reach Erawan falls but unfortunately; we reached Kanchanaburi around 8 PM. I have booked an amazing River house with the help of Facebook chat on reasonable price. Thanks to kind owner Mr.Bho.

I loved this place since it looks very similar to Allapey,kerala but Kanchanaburi has vast mountains.

Bonus:
This River house stay gave me some kind of mystical feeling. Everywhere I can see Stone dolls and it was very cute. 

Day 3 (12th August 2022)
Kanchanaburi – Erawan waterfalls – Farm house

Erawan waterfalls

After 10 PM we checked out from the homestay took the public bus to Erawan park.
Bus– 30 Baht /p
Entrance ticket – 300 Baht /p.

Once we reached there, we kept our bags inside the nearby restaurant for 30 baht.

It will take half a KM to reach the falls from there. We need to trek for 1.5 km to reach the 7th waterfalls. It is an easy trek and one of the beautiful forest with hidden waterfalls. Those radiating greens, mild greenish water and limestone cave felt, is this real or man made?

Bonus: We also have mini caves. We can also swim inside.

Farm house

We stayed in an amazing farm house Shanti Farm from 10km to Erawan park.

My Review:
I am a nature lover and waterfalls freak this farm house is heaven for me since it is off beat place in city , 10km near to Erawan Waterfalls and 2km near to Cave. Thanks to Kim she approved for 3px in the house. We booked the house for 2 nights. Unfortunately, we reached Kanchanaburi at 8 PM, Kim suggested us to stay in Kanchanaburi since the farmhouse is very far and harmful for animals at night. Next day we went to Erawan falls and came down to car parking Mr& Mrs Hey waiting for us in the mini truck. We put our luggages on the truck , sat on it and enjoyed the lake view , mountains and smooth road. Mrs.Hey fried rice , noodle soup and cold tea is wonderful. Mr Hey’s family are very calm and friendly. I definitely recommend people who are nature lovers and want to learn about the culture.

Day 4 (13th August 2022)
Farm house – Kanchanaburi – bangkok – Pattaya – Kol larn(Island)- Hotel

While coming back to Erawan park to kanchanaburi we are waiting for the bus. We saw 50 years old lady came with her mini truck crossed us and went too ATM while returning I asked her about Kanchanaburi bus timing she told something in Thai language I didn’t understand, my friend told me, she may be interested in gives us a ride. I ran to her and asked about the ride. She accepted our request with free of cost. We spoke using google transulate conversation option. She was a very brave and kind woman, explained about the place and her family. It was a treasure full experience for me. I felt the unconditional love is everywhere.

Kanchanaburi – bangkok – Pattaya

Once we reached Kanchanaburi, we took a mini van to reach bangkok. In bangkok we went to take RTPCR test for one of my unvaccinated friend after that we reached Eastern bus terminal again we took minivan(120-150 baht /p)reached Pattaya it took us another 1.5 hours from there we booked the taxi to reach the harbor.

You may think, are you crazy? Yes, I am 😀

Once we reached the harbor Bali Hai Pier we took a ferry (30 baht /p) it took 45mins to reach Ko Lan island it was beautiful experience to see the sunset while sailing.

We stay in Baan Plasai Koh Larn booked in agoda. it was a decent budget stay for us.

We roamed in the island night market,tasted some marine foods and sat on the docking area observed the wonderful moon and Pattaya seashore in front of us.

Day 5 (14th August 2022)
Kol larn – Pattaya – Madras Darbar restaurant- Para sailing – Traditional Massage – Bangkok – Airsuvidha – flight – Chennai,India

One of my friend and I woke up soon in the morning and walked 1km to reach gorgeous turquoise Tawaen Beach meanwhile we also saw wild huge monitor lizard.

While returning to Pattaya we missed the ferry and hired speed boat for 150 baht /p. We reached Pattaya shore within 15min but it was a wobbly ride.

Madras Darbar restaurant again my friend got south India food lust, so we ate dose there. Once we entered inside the restaurant it welcomed us with Tamil song and hot sambar small. Most of the servant came from Madurai and Chennai, also they know both Tamil and Hindi. Once we completed our breakfast we handed over our bag there and started looking for Traditional Massage center (Thailand famous)

Para sailing

While looking for a massage center we end up near a green beach. There we saw interesting para sailing sports. Man, they’re offered us para sailing for 600 Baht we convinced him to 400 baht /p. Experienced another adventure sports.

Traditional Massage

We checked in the google reviews and found an amazing traditional massage shop. they are very experienced and with one hour of aroma oil massage with the fragrance and their massage technique our leg and back pain disappeared completely. Massage cost us around(300-400Baht /p) If you like you can g give tips for them.

Bangkok – flight – Chennai,India

We took a minivan and reached bangkok from Pattaya. after that we hired taxi to reach the airport.

Airsuvidha
Before reaching India, please fill Airsuvidha to clear the immigration and finally we reached Chennai.

Note: One day before I completed the return web check in Air Asia website and paid 2500INR for extra luggage to reduce the waiting time.

Post-Trip
Split wise app – Money exchange(Thai baht – INR) – One week self-quarantine

Split wise app – I used Splid android app to split the expenses.

Money exchange(Thai baht to INR) – we saved around 8,000 baht from 50,000 and exchanged it from same srivarimoneyexchange.

Note: Please don’t exchange inside the airport it will cost you more.

One week self-quarantine – We all stayed at home one week on self quarantine.
