Before I attended the workshop I had a lot of fear, I asked a lot of questions to myself
I am a born artist?
Even I can learn art?
Is it difficult to understand?
How other people in the workshop see my wicked art?
Do they criticise me?
I didn’t answer anything that time, I just throw out the useless questions from my head and went to the workshop
I remember a sentence once told by krav maha Master
“When you going to learn something new, make yourself empty and go blank, listen, observe and learn from the Pro’s”
I and My sister(@shoutouteureka) attended the workshop, my sister is a photographer for that workshop and one by one totally 9/10 members attended the event.
1st I thought he will go to draw something inboard and tell us to draw, bcoz in my school days drawing teachers do like that.
But Varaikalaivan’s approach is so different then only I realised this the way of Pro’s
After the workshop, I asked him why you quit LMES(Former Graphic designer), He told LMES was the great place to learn, it was the heaven for passionate youngers, when I started my career there I forgot the time, I work more than 9 hrs, that place was the passion-driven environment. But at some point I decided I want to create my own Identity, So I quit my job.
I need to display my identity to this world I was full of passionate about my art skill,
but in reality, without money, we will destroy our passion.
If I want to thrive in my passion I needed 9AM-6PM job. so I joint in FuNScHooL as a digital designer and rest of the free time I mindfully concentrating on my passion.
Who is Varaikalaivan?
Studied at MIT, B.Tech IT Graduate,
Did he tell a little story about why? he chose this path?.
he told ” It was an accident, in my college culture program everyone took a work, my event organizer called me and gave the Pamphlet design task for the event because he thought I am studying in IT, so I know everything about computer relevant stuff.
In reality, I don’t know anything about designing.
Event is going to start in 2 days, I opened my laptop and stared at the MS Paint, don’t know what to do. then I searched a lot on the internet so I found if we want to design we need photoshop so I downloaded pirated version and start to work on that 2 days.
I completed the work and given to them. I didn’t get much appreciation, but I realised little ember starts to glow inside me, little by little I practised more in arts.
At the end of 4th year of engineering life, in my group 7 members out of 6 of them are placed in Microsoft, Accenture, google etc, I am the only one didn’t attend any campus interview I just ignored everything, every person in the gang advised, shouted at me asked “what is in my mind, what you going to do in future, it is not like you are a bad coder or bad in studies you’re good at IT still why you not pursuing anything in your carrier”
I remained silent coz, When you decided something in your mind you must not tell others until you start to do it, the Worst part is we need to explain the answer which does not digest by others”
In my carrier, my salary is so medium when I compare to my 10x gang, But every day I felt I am living in my own skin, I love what I am doing little by little I am managing the balance in between profession and passion and started to create a tiny bridge between them so that I can engage in full force.

Let’s go to the workshop!
First I thought it is psychology class, then it goes to trigonometry after that it went to engineering graphics and goes to emotional intelligence and finally the sketch
he gave drawing note, pen, pencils, eraser, sharpener etc.., and told: “1st take a pen and start to draw simple star 25 times”.
We shocked! what? star?…
Yes, do it!
(My Sketch)
We drew a star and he told” Why I told you, people, to draw in pen so that you can understand your mistakes and now you see your 25 star is it identical to the previous one?
We said ” No”.
So in art you can copy and draw the art from everything but you can’t draw identical of it there will be a little personal touch in your drawing, So 1st don’t think about innovation or own creation, you copy other works and practice the drawing little by little you will figure out your own strength then you will surely start to bloom with your identity.
His Most Lovable Chibi!
Chibi Bharathiyar(My sketch)
he told ” it is hard for me to express my anger, I learned and seen many archives about Bharathiyar, he was an iconic person, fearless character, if he felt it is not good he expresses it on the spot.
I draw my favourite chibi, Art is you expressing your emotion through some medium Drawing is one of them. I express my emotions in the form of Bharathiyar.
he told about the basic shapes, think 3D and chibi marks etc..,
If you want to draw a person 1st you need to observe and write down the unique facial figure in their face, start from the marked figure and you will draw all most similar to that person.
He advised us to analyse the trend what people like and how to express yourself to this world, you can draw with colour, without colour, comic, comedy etc.. whatever it is, people will like yours when you have better understand about them.
(My Sketch)
Always practice 7 mins daily.
“Practice is didn’t makes a man perfect, practice gives you experience, more we try more we do mistake we learn from them, we understand the nuance of it and we become master in it, trial and error methods always work.”
Everyone is an Artist when you spend some time in drawing you will create your own way of art.
All the best
