Lizard Carving

Hi Seeker,

Click from  Sri Govinda Raja Swamy Temple

This is the 1st time I saw another reptile kind rather than a snake(nagas) in ancient temples, India.
This carving looks very similar to #monitorlizard also biting scorpion in its jaw. this unique type of carving depicts inside the temple wall of #govindrajaswamitemple outer #gopuramentrance.

Note:

The sad part is More interesting carvings inside this temple. temple administration strictly restricted the mobiles and cameras inside the temple :(.
I saw #lordvishnu in #narasimha avatar form. he tearing the pillar apart from inside. magnificent unique carving I ever saw. when I saw the carving my mind played #lordnarasimha Avatar’s story.
